Nathalie Georges et al., « Reducing Spatial Inequality: an Application in the Paris Region », Économie & prévision, ID : 10670/1.096c85...
We estimate a spatial error model on Paris-region data to explain unemployment-to-work transition disparities. We examine representative indicators of local employment dynamics, the mismatch between residential location of the unemployed and place of work, the mismatch between the skills of the unemployed and those required by employers, residential segregation and residential status. We use methods that make it possible to assess the scope of each of these explanations and to determine which are the most important to consider in terms of public policies. Results show the need for a stronger focus on skills and spatial mismatches.
