Résumé 0

Does the work of Pierre Bourdieu lend itself to a legal reading? How can a jurist make use of an anti-legalist sociology? It is possible to treat these questions at two levels. First, one has to admit that the sociology of the legal field developed by Pierre Bourdieu could be useful for the critical analysis of the prevailing legal thinking. But, secondly, one cannot avoid noticing that the conception of law underlying Bourdieu’s approach is not beyond reproach. It is up to the jurist to criticize it from a legal perspective, for the law cannot be reduced to the representations given by the author.
