La utopía neoliberal y sus críticos

El presente artículo se sostiene que la teoría neoliberal pretende ser una interpretación verdadera de la realidad humana y social, pero a su vez contiene una utopía -en el sentido de un proyecto irrealizable, aún cuando todos estuvieran de acuerdo en intentar ponerlo en práctica; todo esto en un contexto intelectual donde tiene significativa presencia la tesis del fin de los metarelatos y de las utopías. Paradójicamente, postula el autor, la teoría neoliberal cumple las funciones de una ideología y una utopía, y hasta intenta responder a las principales preguntas sobre el hombre, la libertad, el sentido de la vida humana, la sociedad y sus instituciones. El artículo recorre su historia y presenta las teorías críticas a este pensamiento, y concluye mostrando el carácter político de la utopía neoliberal.

Cet article soutient que la théorie néolibérale prétend être une interprétation authentique de la réalité humaine et sociale, tout en contenant à la fois une utopie – dans le sens de projet irréalisable – même lorsque nous serions tous d’accord pour tenter de la mettre en pratique ; tout cela dans un contexte intellectuel au sein duquel la thèse de la fin des métarécits et des utopies occupe une place significative. L’auteur affirme que, paradoxalement, la théorie néolibérale possède les fonctions d’une idéologie et d’une utopie, et tente même de répondre aux principales questions sur l’homme, la liberté, le sens de la vie humaine, la société et ses institutions. L’article parcourt son histoire et présente les théories critiques de cette pensée, et conclut démontrant le caractère politique de l’utopie néolibérale.

This paper argues that neoliberal theory intends to be a true interpretation of human and social reality, but in turn contains a utopia -in the sense of an impossible project- even if everyone agreed to try to implement it; all this in an intellectual context where it has significant presence the thesis of the end of grand narratives and utopias. Paradoxically, argues the author, neoliberal theory fulfills the functions of an ideology and a utopia, and even attempts to answer key questions about man, freedom, the meaning of human life, society and its institutions. The article covers the history and presents critical theories to this thought, and concludes by showing the political nature of the neoliberal utopia.
