Résumé 0

Zofia Romanowicz adopted the concept of time as a fourth dimension that allowed her to juxtapose events belonging to different time periods as she wished. By freely manipulating chronology, while maintaining narrative suspense, she mastered the techniques practiced by the nouveau roman, which she used as a method to relate the unspeakable experiences of life in concentration camps and the attempts to construct a life afterward. As well as narrative time and time for concentration camp survivors, the article examines human time, asserting that it brings us a renewed sense of life, and that individuals must construct it for themselves, just as they might build a home.
