What assessment can be made of the exercise of power in three countries where attempts to break with neoliberalism have made the greatest headway since the beginning of the twenty-first century? In terms of the final verdict, the results are mixed. While these experiments have enabled a certain redistribution of wealth, they are all marked by an extractivist bias. Above all, these efforts have been progressively affected by political decisions that have led to bureaucratization, a growing disconnect with social movements, and even authoritarian tendencies that call for a new approach to the question of how power should be exercised for the sake of social change.
