Objective: Aims of this study were i) to examine the impact of a 4-month walking program on perceived health through a novel short perceived questionnaire (SPQ), in a sample of sedentary, healthy and moderately obese (BMI ranging from 29 to 35 kg/m2) postmenopausal women 50-65 year-old, compared to participants of similar age, adiposity and cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) who remained inactive during this period, and ii) to verify whether improvements in the 6 perceived health items examined were related to cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) and/or to body fatness changes.Methods: From the 270 women included in this study, 181 participants were subjected to 3 sessions/week of 45-min walking at 60% of their heart rate reserve, while 58 women remained inactive during 4 months. Perceived health was assessed through the SPHQ, body composition, and CRF were determined before and after the 4-month study-period. Another sample of 20 women had evaluated the SPQ. Results: Our data show that a 4-month walking program improves perceived ideal weight and stress level in moderately obese and sedentary postmenopausal women (p
