The hybridization of literary and digital practices leads digital writings to acquire specificities as well as a strong performativity that can be deployed both on and off the screen. By introducing the concept of “rhizotextuality”, we aim to highlight one of the effects of reading and writing on the poetics of digital writing which describes a new type of transtextuality specific to these forms of writing. Moreover, we will examine how some digital writers have developed large-scale transmedia projects that shuffle the decks of their readings and plain the performative aspects of their works beyond the media. To this purpose, we will rely on two works created by Pierre Ménard (Philippe Diaz), founder of the Liminaire.fr Website and one of the most emblematic digital writers of the literary French-speaking area. These productions are namely L’abécédaire des prépositions (le film des films), carried out in 2019, and the geolocalized fiction Les Lignes de désir, a project that has been developed by the author since 2010, and on which we will mainly focus here.

L'hybridation des pratiques littéraires sur le web amène les écritures numériques à se doter de spécificités tout en étant marquées par le sceau d'une performativité forte susceptible de se déployer à la fois sur et hors écran. À travers cet article nous nous proposons d'une part de mettre en évidence un des effets du lire/écrire sur la poétique des écritures numériques en proposant un concept, celui de « rhizotextualité », décrivant un nouveau type de transtextualité propre à aux écritures numériques.
