L’analyse psychosémiotique de dessins de paysage réalisés par des adolescents guarani-kaïowa du Brésil met en lumière leurs difficultés de quête d’identité, difficultés dues à une nécessaire transculturalité, qu’ils décident de rester dans la réserve ou de la quitter. En effet, il faut remettre en cause la cosmogonie traditionnelle et sa répartition du Monde en trois espaces organisés verticalement (organisation projetable, aussi, horizontalement). De manière étonnante, cette tripartition du Monde, devenus impossible à soutenir (à cause du confinement dans la réserve), se convertit, dans certains dessins, en un détriplement du ‘point de vue », manière de maintenir, en désespoir de cause, la structure ternaire fondamentale.D’autre part, l’analyse de ce processus identitaire plein d’embûches «éclaire le problème de l’étiologie du suicide rituel qui frappe justement les adolescents et les jeunes adultes du groupe depuis plusieurs décennies. Loin d’avoir le sens occidental d’un échec, il serait un moyen de résolution mythique du problème d’identité, une fin courageuse et glorieuse, voire métaphorique de la fin, rêvée, du Guerrier d’antan rejoignant les divinités

A psychosemiotic analysis of landscape-drawings made by teen-agers guarani-kaïowa from Brazil shows the difficulties involved in their search for identity which are inherent to a necessary transculturality, whether they decide to stay in the reserve or not . In effect, we must question the traditional cosmogony and its partition of the World in three vertically organized spaces (an organization which can also be projected horizontally). Surprisingly, this partition of the World, impossible to sustain (because of the emprisonment in the reserve), is transmuted, in the case of certain drawings, in a triple point of view, a way to maintain, if all else fails, the fundamental ternary structure.On the other hand, the analysis of this identity process which is full of unresolved questions sheds new light on the etiological problem of ritual suicide which for many years has been rampant among guarani-kaïowa adolescents and young adults. Far from being seen as a figure in the Western sense, such a suicide seems a way to mythically solve the identity problem through a courageous and gloreous, as well as metaphoric dream ending of Old Warriors of the tribe rejoining the divine world.
