Résumé
We are pleased to present the third volume of the electronic edition of Kurt Gödel’s Maxims and Philosophical Remarks, commonly called Max Phil. Since volume X ⟨hal-01459188⟩ and volume IX ⟨hal-02892852⟩ of this electronic edition appeared respectively in January 2017 and October 2020, hundreds of Gödel scholars have taken the opportunity to download it. We here present the first complete transcription, from Gabelsberger shorthand to German, of Max Phil XI. A preliminary version of this volume XI, as well as of volumes XII, XIV and XV, was until now only available to the public at the CNRS Library Granger Guillermit. Notebook XI is catalogued as item 030097 in Series III, box 6b, folder 70. A scan of Gödel's manuscript in Gabelsberger is avalaible at https://library.ias.edu/gödelpapers. This final transcription, by Robin Rollinger, in collaboration with the other editors, is based on a first incomplete transcription by Cheryl Dawson (1-67, 69-72, 89-90, 96-102, 148-154) and a first complete transcription by Robin Rollinger and Eva-Maria Engelen, in collaboration with the other editors.
