Over the last twenty-five years, many scholars have sought to reinstate female authors of the Enlightenment with the literary posterity that has so often been denied them. Taking a typological and comparative approach, this essay discusses particular networks of association which reveal the evolution of these eighteenthcentury novelists’ critical discourse.
