This study analyses the production of doctoral theses on Media Ethics which have been defended in Spain over the period 1976-2008. The TESEO database has been used to search the data, although other sources have been consulted. The total number of dissertations produced during the studied period was 75. Bibliometric analysis techniques have been used in order to analyze the data. Results show the production of thesis by time period, theses languages, PhD candidate genres, universities and faculties, theses advisors, examination board members and topic of research. Moreover, results show a constant increase in the number of theses and that Complutense University is the most productive one. Truth, responsibility and self regulation are the most common topics.
