Mónica Locascio et al., « Probiotic bacteriotherapy in chronic infantile diarrhea », Interciencia, ID : 10670/1.1nmrj5
"A probiotic therapy based on the administration of a dairyproduct containing Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus acidophiluswas used against chronic diarrhea of 170 infants agingfrom 4 months - 4 years. The mean period during which thechildren suffered from diarrhea before the start of the probiotictreatment was of about 50 days. After 4 days of therapy the clinical symptoms had been eliminated. Until the end of thestudy none of the patients suffered a relapse. Bacterial counts inthe feces suggested that the probiotic lactobacilli had restoredthe normal intestinal lactobacillus flora. The fermented producttested in this work can be considered a beneficial food."
