The teaching teams featured in this book were convinced that the school system had to be radically transformed to counteract social reproduction, and they did it! As a breeding ground for educational, relational and institutional inventions, these experiments have much to teach us today. Particularly with regard to cooperative and co-creative artistic practices, which share with them a desire and ways of doing things, such as social transformation, co-management, the emergence of common ground and collective creation. The book moves back and forth between testimonies and interviews with the actors in this history and elements of contextualisation and analysis opening up to co-creative artistic practices. The book includes an interview with Jean Foucambert, a discussion with Rolande and Raymond Millot (from the Vitruve school in Paris and the Villeneuve school in Grenoble) and an unpublished text by André Virengue, headmaster for 20 years of the Jacques Prévert school in Villeneuve d'Ascq. Iconography plays an important role in the research. In particular, it reveals the work of pupils and the publication of school newspapers and other printed matter.

Les équipes pédagogiques dont il est question dans ce livre étaient persuadées qu'il fallait transformer radicalement le système scolaire pour contrevenir à la reproduction sociale et il·elle·s l'ont fait ! Véritable terreau d'inventions éducatives, relationnelles, institutionnelles, ces expériences ont beaucoup à nous apprendre aujourd'hui. Notamment au regard des pratiques artistiques coopératives et de co-création qui partagent avec elles un désir et des manières de faire, comme celui de la transformation sociale, la co-gestion, l'émergence de commun et la création collective. Le livre se construit dans un va-et-vient entre des témoignages et entretiens menés auprès des acteurs et actrices de cette histoire et des éléments de contextualisation et d'analyse ouvrant sur les pratiques artistiques de co-création. Figurent dans l'ouvrage un entretien avec Jean Foucambert, une discussion avec Rolande et Raymond Millot (école Vitruve, Paris et à la Villeneuve de Grenoble) et un texte inédit d'André Virengue, directeur pendant 20 ans de l'école Jacques-Prévert à Villeneuve d'Ascq. Une place importante est donnée à l'iconographie, partie prenante de la recherche. Elle permet notamment de découvrir des réalisations d'élèves ainsi que l'édition de journaux scolaires ou autres imprimés.
