L’auteur montre comment le mythe de Jung pourrait être la revitalisation de ce qui est mort, et elle s’appuie pour cela sur la vision qu’il eut à propos de la cathédrale de Bâle et les commentaires qu’il en donne. On y perçoit l’importance de la pulsion anale, le passage de l’image à la pensée et l’émergence d’un vécu qui s’apparente au sacré. Cette expérience pourrait expliquer l’importance du phénomène de la transformation dans la réflexion de Jung sur la psyché inconsciente et spécialement son intérêt pour l’alchimie.

The author shows how the myth of Jung could be the revitalization of that which is dead. To do so, she refers to the vision Jung had about the Basel cathedral, and the comments he made on it. The importance of the anal drive is obvious, along with the transition from image to thought, and the emergence of an experience related to the sacred. This experience might explain the importance of the phenomenon of transformation in Jung’s theories of the unconscious psyche, and especially his interest in alchemy.
