L’objectif de ce travail était d’évaluer la faisabilité d’un système d’information reposant sur le Programme de Médicalisation des Systèmes d’Information (PMSI) complété par une source d’information indépendante, les données anatomo-pathologiques, afin de suivre l’activité de prise en charge des patients atteints d’un cancer au CHU de Dijon. La population d’étude est constituée de tous les cancers incidents hospitalisés au CHU de Dijon pendant le 1er trimestre 2001. Les informations sont obtenues à partir du croisement des données du PMSI et du laboratoire d’anatomo-pathologie puis validées manuellement. Les résumés (n = 1317) des patients hospitalisés pour la première fois au CHU ont été sélectionnés : parmi les résumés validés, 60 % ont été validés par la concordance entre le PMSI et l’anatomo-pathologie, moins de 5 % étaient identifiés uniquement par le fichier d’anatomo-pathologie, 24 % uniquement par le fichier PMSI. Ces résultats démontrent l’intérêt de conjuguer plusieurs sources de données pour suivre l’activité de prise en charge des cancers dans un établissement.
