Salah Koubaa, « Renewable energy through the lens of entrepreneurship theory : The case of Morocco », Projectics / Proyéctica / Projectique, ID : 10670/1.21bz7u
Many researchers have published articles to show the socioeconomic impact of the renewable energy especially in emerging countries. According to this literature, we have realized that the entrepreneurial perspective of renewable energy is missing, with the exception of a few studies on innovation theory, social entrepreneurship, and micro-finance. The aim of this article is to argue that the renewable energy is an opportunity to slow environmental degradation opening a new perspective of the research agenda in entrepreneurship: sustainable entrepreneurship. In addition to that, we hope that this article contributes to the connection of entrepreneurial perspective, its opportunities and challenges, with renewable energy in the emerging markets. Empirically speaking, this research allows us to introduce Morocco as an emerging context of sustainable entrepreneurship. Using a perspective based on market imperfections, we have focused on Noor I Concentrated Solar Power in Ouarzazate to analyze barriers to renewable energy entrepreneurship and absorptive capacity in Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs). Barriers are related to human capital capacity, knowledge transfer, and economic and financial context.
