Résumé
Modern times are witnessing a profound transformation of the facilities and an optimization of the resources used to care for older adults and persons with disabilities. Over the centuries and decades, we have gone from the “houses of hospitality” run by clerics in the fourth and fifth centuries, which took in the “unfortunate” and the elderly sick, to today’s specialized establishments with adapted buildings and technology, and professionalized staff.
