Adil El Anbi, « Les représentations de l'identité marocaine et l'action politique chez les jeunes », HAL-SHS : sociologie, ID : 10670/1.23ndd9
This thesis adopts an interdisciplinary prism, combining the contributions of sociology, psychosociology and political sociology, in order to explore empirically the identity process in its moments: relationship with oneself and relationship with the other, and then, the process of politicisation by showing the effect of social representations relating to identity in the choice of conventional and/or non-conventional political action among young people. Despite the abundance of literature devoted to these two major processes, little field research has sought to interweave and articulate their respective contributions. The originality of the thesis lies precisely in this. From a constructivist perspective on identity, this research tests the hypothesis that social representations of identity guide the choice of political action. Such an approach posits that identity is the referent that provides an ideal framework for the analysis the political behaviour rooted the social action. The empirical material that gives substance to this analysis comes from an e-questionnaire and semi-directive interviews with a group of young people. Through the theory of social representations and the different socialisation processes that refer to them, the analysis reveals, on the one hand, the correlation between the process of identification and that of politicisation. On the other hand, it shows the effect of identity perception on the relationship of young people to politics. This leads us to reconsider the place of identity in the political sphere.
