Alida Maria Silletti, « The Come- and Go-Periphrases in Contemporary Italian: Grammaticalisation and Meaning Effects », Syntaxe et sémantique, ID : 10670/1.264d26...
This study focuses on periphrastic structures made of motion verbs andare and venire in contemporary Italian to show their complexity and their semantico-syntactical and pragmatic features. On the basis of studies about Italian verbal periphrases (among others, Bertinetto 1989-1990, 1996, 1998; Squartini 1998; Bertinetto & Squartini 2016), and of specialised analyses dealing with their semantic values, we investigate the frequency and functioning of these periphrases in the corpus of written contemporary Italian CORIS / CODIS (sections: daily and periodical press; monitor corpus: “MONITORs”) and on the Web. Some intra- and cross-linguistic remarks on contemporary Romance language periphrases highlight similarities and differences with the Italian structures in order to identify their specificities.
