For the past thirty years, the Rocinha favela, a self-built district of Rio de Janeiro, has been the subject of interventionist public policies, first of all urbanization policies and since 2011 of security policies with the pacification. These policies have gradually transformed the district, its population, its structure and its operating methods. The new populations settled within the district imported their lifestyles there, thus creating a phenomenon of gentrification and transforming the processes of domination, especially racial and social domination, within the favela. In this article, we are talking about a favela partida (divided favela) re-adaptation of the concept of cidade partida in order to illustrate the change of the domination processes inside the favela and the unequal distribution of the population on the territory caused by the interventionist policies of the State.

Depuis une trentaine d'années, la favela de Rocinha, quartier autoconstruit de Rio de Janeiro, fait l'objet de politiques publiques interventionnistes, d'abord de politiques d'urbanisation puis, à partir de 2011, de politiques sécuritaires avec la pacification. Ces différentes politiques ont progressivement transformé le quartier, sa population, sa structure et ses modes de fonctionnement. Les nouvelles populations installées au sein du quartier y ont importé leurs modes de vie, créant ainsi un phénomène de gentrification et transformant les processus de domination, notamment raciaux et sociaux, au sein de la favela. Nous parlons alors dans cet article d'une favela partida (favela divisée) réadaptation du concept de cidade partida afin d'illustrer le changement des rapports de domination à l'intérieur de la favela et la répartition inégale de la population sur le territoire entraînée par les politiques interventionnistes de l'État.
