Résumé En

This article details which editions T. S. Eliot actively used to study Elizabethan and Jacobean drama and provides a rationale for the choice of editions listed. It begins by making a case for the crucial influence that early modern drama had on Eliot's poetry and prose and by offering an overview of existing criticism on the topic. It then outlines three major reasons for the importance of knowing which exact editions Eliot used to read the plays. The article provides a detailed explanation of the methodology used to determine the editions, which involved cross-referencing various sources of information, including Eliot's works and several archival documents , as well as comparing the orthography and punctuation of different editions.
