Valentin Roux et al., « Psychometric properties of the French athlete version of the Coach-Athlete Relationship Questionnaire (Fr-CART-Q) », HAL SHS (Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société), ID : 10.31219/osf.io/fh87v_v1
Two studies were conducted to examine the psychometric properties of the French athlete version of the Coach-Athlete Relationship Questionnaire (Fr-CART-Q) among two independent samples of French athletes. Study 1 evaluated the reliability, factorial structure, convergent, discriminant, and criterion validities of this scale among 442 French athletes (65.8% of men ; Mage = 21.66, SD = 4.82) involved in various sport practice. Study 2 investigated the same psychometrics properties, as well as temporal invariance, among a specific sample of 286 adolescent handball players (58.4% of men ; Mage =15.39 years, SD = 1.01) involved in intensive training centers. Results of both studies revealed satisfactory psychometric properties of the Fr-CART-Q. Reliability and factorial structure analyses support the multidimensional and hierarchical structure of the Fr-CART-Q. Temporal invariance analysis reveals that this scale is invariant over time. Criterion validity indicates that the coachathlete relationship quality is positively associated with athlete perceived competence. Overall, these two studies indicated that the Fr-CART-Q can be used among French athletes.
