Avec le recul d’une cinquantaine d’années, il me semble possible aujourd’hui de rendre compte succinctement de ce que m’a apporté ma fréquentation au long cours de l’œuvre de Jacques Lacan. Cela a débuté lorsque, jeune interne en psychiatrie, j’ai découvert chez Lacan des outils pour mieux saisir la spécificité de la clinique des psychoses. J’ai été ensuite intéressé par le Lacan lecteur attentif de Freud (notamment du petit Hans) ; enfin et surtout par le fait que Lacan ait introduit en psychanalyse cette notion phare de la subjectivation, en la concevant (séminaire de mai-juin 1964 sur la pulsion) comme processus naissant au départ des interactions pulsionnelles avec le grand Autre parental.

Looking back over 50 years it now seems possible to briefly consider what I have gained in the long term from my frequentation of the works of Lacan. This began when, as a young intern in psychiatry, I discovered with Lacan the tools to better grasp the specificity of the clinic of psychosis. I then became interested in Lacan as an attentive reader of Freud (in particular Little Hans); and finally and most importantly in the fact that Lacan introduced into psychoanalysis his central notion of subjectivation, conceiving it (seminar of May-June 1964 on the drive) as a dawning process from the drive interactions with the great parental Other.
