The texts found at Ugarit enable us to show the nomenclature presented in this work (Icart, Chanut and Matoïan p. 157-190) and the Akkadian and Ugaritic vocabularies concerning the stones. Although not rich, these vocabularies refer to most of the stones observed. The international correspondence is the principal source of information on this subject, as Ugarit appears to have been a centre of trade in stones, as it was for other materials.

Les textes trouvés à Ougarit permettent de mettre en regard la nomenclature présentée dans cet ouvrage (Icart, Chanut, Matoïan, p. 157-190) et les vocabulaires akkadien et ougaritique des pierres. Sans être riches, ces vocabulaires désignent une grande partie des roches observées. La correspondance internationale est la source d’information principale sur ce sujet, Ougarit apparaissant bien comme un centre d’échanges pour les pierres, comme c’est le cas pour d’autres matières.
