Margherita Farina et al., « Three Syriac books printed at the Seminary of Montefiascone », HAL SHS (Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société), ID : 10670/1.2c0b37...
This paper presents three books printed in Syriac characters at the press of the Seminary of Montefiascone, in1699. The editorial enterprise, led by three Maronite priests connected to the Maronite College in Rome and to the Propaganda Fide, is set into the broader picture of printing in oriental languages (especially Syriac and Arabic) achieved by ecclesiastical institutions, and of the vicissitudes of the Maronite intellectual community in seventeenth-century Italy.
