After relating Henry Morgenthau's biography – an American Jew who became diplomat -Adalian shows the key role played by the ambassador in the realization of the extent of the genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1914, as well as the major influence that the diplomat has had, once back in America, in his country's response to the killers.
