The main goal of this essay is to examine theconcept of nation as the identity phenomenonpar excellence in forming the image of oneselfand, consequently, the image of the “other”.Hence, I will explore the political stake raisedby this phenomenon in as much as it is at theorigins of the emergence of a project for a culturalpolysemy of collective identities with regardsto the former monoculturalism and theemerging doctrine of multiculturalism
