The article examines the challenges associated with the place assigned to Latin America History in the formative years of Contemporary World History for Social Science students at the Spanish University, almost adapted to the EESE. It is argued that the inclusion of the region into a more comprehensive history is a methodological darling for a globalized context. In view of the contributions and historiographical results to universalize knowledge of History, it is suggested that convergence between the Latin American Contemporary History and rest of world -specially with Europe and Unites States- from themes and concepts, but without abandoning the identity of a discipline with a successful push in the Spanish University
