For a Consideration of the Sensitive Body in Field Research : a Communicative KnowledgeThis article examines the implications of the physical presence of the researcher in the fieldwork in terms of knowledge. Starting with a field experience in Bolivia, it indicates that the body plays an important role. Considering the body and affects is relevant for any restitution of knowledge of the field. In this sense the article considers field experience as being about encounter, and explores the questions of co-presence, of shared perception and of restitution, based on a conception of knowledge that does not oppose expert knowledge and lay knowledge, but considers knowledge as a production of communicative situations and as a sharing of the sensible. It shows the importance of integrating in our theoretical approaches the thinking with the bodily presence, and the relational dimension of any knowledge in field research.

Cette contribution interroge ce qu’implique, en termes de savoir, la présence corporelle du chercheur sur le terrain. En se fondant sur une enquête exploratoire en Bolivie, elle indique que la prise en compte du corps et des affects participe à la compréhension de la manière dont se construit le savoir. Elle aborde l’expérience de terrain comme étant de l’ordre de la rencontre, à partir des questions de la coprésence, de la perception sensible et de la restitution, à la lumière d’une conception des savoirs qui n’oppose pas savoirs savants et profanes, mais considère le savoir comme une production communicationnelle en situation et comme un partage du sensible. Cette contribution montre l’importance d’intégrer dans les approches théoriques la pensée par le corps et la dimension sensible du savoir.
