A basalt relief, found at ‘Aqīrbāt, features a woman. It is recognized as the remaining portion of a Roman tombstone which has been cut for a secondary use. The comparison with similar documents from the surrounding basaltic regions, Ǧabal Ḥaṣ to the North and the territories of Homs, Al-Rastan and Hama to the West, allows identifying common features characteristic of Roman sculptures from Central Syria.

Un relief de basalte fragmentaire, trouvé à ‘Aqīrbāt, représente une femme de face. Il est identifié comme la partie restante d’une stèle funéraire d’époque romaine retaillée pour un usage secondaire. La comparaison avec des documents du même type provenant des régions basaltiques voisines, Ǧabal Ḥaṣ au nord et territoires de Homs, d’al-Rastan et de Hama à l’ouest, permet de repérer des traits communs caractéristiques de la sculpture de la Syrie centrale à cette époque.
