The presentation contains a short overview of forest fire history of Central Europe, focusing on the Black Forest (Schwarzwald in Germany). The Schiltach Kirchberg Fire Site is briefly described (geography, geobotany, forest species), including monitoring design and also showing first results of 3 years observation of vegetation recovery after the fire event.
