Résumé 0

Improved life expectancy among people with Down syndrome (DS) has been linked to new issues such as cognitive decline associated with aging and screening/diagnosis for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) in this population. The aim of this review is to identify the main tools used in the literature for the cognitive evaluation of this population. Research was conducted on PsycINFO, PubMed, Web of Science, Wiley databases, and Google Scholar from July to November 2020, concerning persons with DS aged 18 or above, and evaluated using cognitive assessment scales. A total of 186 assessment tools were identified among the 85 articles included. However, most tools had not been validated in French-language studies, and only one third were specifically designed for a diagnosis of AD in people with DS. These results underline the need to develop specific tools for the diagnosis of AD in people with DS, validated by French-language studies.
