Emanuel Zingg, « « Il Barb. gr. 194 e la tradizione B del De mensibus di Giovanni Lido » », HAL SHS (Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société), ID : 10670/1.3e987b...
Barb. gr. 194 is the oldest manuscript of a collection of excerpts from John Lydus’s ‘De mensibus’,a fragmentary work on the Roman pagan calendar. This paper presents the Barberinianus and theother witnesses up to the editio princeps by Niels Schow in 1794 and sums up the relationships betweenthem in a stemma. The Barberinianus, which belonged to Ianus Lascaris and then to AuloGiano Parrasio before entering into cardinal Francesco Barberini’s library, is the only independentwitness for the collection; all the other manuscripts, copied in Italy by Angelo Poliziano, Leone Allacci, and others, depend on it.
