Pierre Gaudriault et al., « Alcohol use disorder and Rorschach: defect of the body ego and psychic avoidance », Psychotropes, ID : 10670/1.4b1477...
From the psychoanalytic studies on the psychic avoidance mechanism, as evoked by S. Fraiberg and A. Green on the one hand, and on the disorders of the body ego described by G. Haag on the other, the authors make the hypothesis that these phenomena are manifested in the Rorschach of patients suffering from alcohol use disorder (AUD). The Rorschachs of 58 AUD patients compared to 58 patients with various non-addictive psychiatric disorders (PSY) show evidence of prior avoidance in a quarter of subjects in both groups. In the group of remaining patients, minor movements, counter-expressive responses, and Penetration responses were significantly higher in AUD patients. These results are in line with psychic avoidance and body ego disorders in this group of patients and may shed light on their commitment to care.
