The articulation between science and society in the challenge of adapting to climate change formed the central issue of a symposium that brought together researchers in the social and natural sciences, territorial agents and elected representatives of New Aquitaine region in Southwestern France. Local experiments and research advances were presented and viewpoints exchanged. On that basis young researchers discussed the new place of scientists in climate-focused action and the anthropogenic approach, the economic aspects of adaptation and the barriers to decision-making. In order to generate efficiency in territorial adaptation strategies there emerged from the meeting a need to structure spaces for exchanges between the various territorial actors, to create a common language and to include the living as well as socio-cultural dimensions.

Le colloque dont il est question dans ce texte trouve son origine dans AcclimaTerra, un projet lancé par le conseil régional de Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Il a conduit notamment à la constitution d'un comité scientifique qui regroupe, sur le modèle du GIEC, des experts régionaux qui synthétisent les connaissances sur les impacts des changements climatiques à l'échelle du territoire. Le texte, rédigé par un groupe d'étudiants, propose une analyse de ce colloque, qui a traité des problèmes concrets et actuels de l'adaptation aux changements climatiques. Il montre en particulier que le niveau régional est indispensable pour promouvoir des recherches et des actions (en particulier de partenariat entre les chercheurs et les acteurs). La Rédaction Résumé-Un colloque réunissant chercheurs en sciences sociales et naturelles, agents territoriaux et élus de la région Nouvelle-Aquitaine s'est intéressé à l'articulation des sciences et des sociétés dans le défi de l'adaptation des changements climatiques. Des expérimentations locales et des avancées de la recherche ont été présentées et des différents points de vue ont été partagés. De jeunes chercheurs ont discuté de la nouvelle place des scientifiques dans l'action climatique et de la vision anthropocentrée, de la dimension économique de l'adaptation et des verrous à la prise de décision. La nécessité de structurer des espaces d'échanges entre acteurs territoriaux, de créer un langage commun, de tenir compte du vivant et de la dimension socioculturelle a émergé de cette rencontre, visant à renforcer les moyens de l'efficience des stratégies d'adaptation territoriales.
