Résumé
The women’s movement against sexual violence points to the responsibility of patriarchy, a binary ranking system that organizes the domination of men over women. French sociology prefers to speak of male domination explained by men’s desire to appropriate women’s fertility for Françoise Héritier, or to build a world among themselves for Pierre Bourdieu. For Carol Gilligan and Naomi Snider, patriarchy is a gendered hierarchical force that applies to all social relations but which today meets with resistance, from women and from all sexual minorities.
