More and more government and corporate leaders are mobilising to address environmental issues, but this will not be enough without the commitment of citizens. On the ground, many initiatives are flourishing, but they sometimes require so much heroism or face such difficulties to change scale that it is questionable whether their proliferation is equal to the challenges.
