This text of personal memories evokes a number of traits of the man who Michel Meyer was. It suggests that it is possible to link these traits to certain aspects of his work through a reading of his only novel, Intoxication à l’héritage (2015). This little-known book allows us to glimpse, independently of the fiction and the story itself, a soul that was wounded. It could be that the healing of this soul is linked to the Michel Meyer’s diverse body of writings in a stronger way than we might think and which may well be worthy of deeper exploration.

Ce texte de souvenirs personnels évoque quelques traits de l’homme Michel Meyer. Il indique qu’il est possible de les relier à certains aspects de son œuvre, à travers une lecture de son unique roman, Intoxication à l’héritage (2015). Ce livre méconnu laisse entrevoir, indépendamment de la fiction et de l’anecdote, une âme qui fut blessée. Il se pourrait que sa guérison entretienne avec les multiples travaux de Michel Meyer des liens plus puissants qu’on ne pourrait le croire, qui mériteraient d’être explorés et approfondis.
