Résumé 0

The authors offer a bidisciplinary approach to the child suffering from abdominal pain. The symptom is seen from the perspective of a somatic conversion, translating the diversity of the various underlying psycholopathological levels, which respects the evolving nature of the situation: the symptom occurs in a child in the course of his development based on physical and psycho-sexual mutations, as well as psychical malleability. Passages between the psychosomatic and hysterical aspects of the symptom exist, as they do between different forms of symbolization - present, absent, virtual or not. The message can perhaps be explored using M. Klein's concept of the feminine phase.
