Superheroes are losers like the rest of us, and it is the most ordinary humans who now serve as their role model. From Watchmen to The Boys, from The Man of the High Castle to the latest Star Trek avatars, it is through anti-heroes in the manner of Philip K. Dick that many contemporary TV series question our values or even dynamite with a corrosive smile the last strongholds of bourgeois and patriarchal society.
