Pourtant, la situation économique est fragile et le primat de l’idéologie nationaliste rend les instances dirigeantes sourdes aux souffrances et aux colères de la population. Faudra-t-il donc une guerre avec Taïwan pour maintenir la cohésion sociale ?

The 20th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, in October 2022, shows Xi Jinping as the undisputable and apparently undisputed leader of a Party-State that has never been as powerful. Yet, economic conditions are fragile, and the primacy of the nationalist ideology makes the leadership deaf to the suffering and anger of the population. Will the preservation of social cohesion require a war against Taiwan?
