Nous examinerons d’abord les évolutions des notions de symptôme et de Nom du Père chez Lacan, voisines mais différenciées, pour arriver à préciser la notion que nous appelons celle du symptôme généralisé. Elle s’appuie sur une interprétation du nœud borroméen généralisé qui ne le considère pas comme la représentation d’une norme mais l’envisage du point de vue de sa dynamique dans laquelle il se constitue comme une sorte d’écriture d’invariant d’une limite à la répétition, au sens de répétition d’une différence propre au trait unaire dans la jouissance mortelle et la jouissance sexuelle. Cette écriture des trans-formations du symptôme éclaire la notion d’identification au symptôme.

We will first examine the developments of the notions of symptom and the Name-of-the-father in Lacan, notions which are connected but differentiated, to arrive at a precision of what we call the notion of the generalized symptom. It is based on an interpretation of the generalized borromeen knot which does not consider it as the representation of a norm but envisages it from the point of view of its dynamics, where it constitutes a form of writing. It is a writing of an invariant of a limit to repetition, in the sense of repetition of a difference specific to the unary trait in mortal and sexual jouissance. This writing of the trans-formations of the symptom throws light on the notion of identification to the symptom.
