TeiPublisher for EpiDoc: Customizing the teipublisher web publishing toolbox for EpiDoc

teiPublisher is an open source web application working with an eXist-db XML native databasemanager. It offers single-source out of the box publishing functionality for TEI documents, giving theeditor the ability to customize the appearance of the reading text, without having to modify or createXSLT or Xquery code. The talk will present some work done at the research center Histoire etSources des Mondes Antiques (HiSoMA ) in Lyon, France, to build a teipublisher web application forEpiDoc files. It will describe how we use the TEI processing models tagset to specify choices maderegarding the appearance of the reading text. The objective is to develop and maintain a customizableand re-useable teiPublisher-EpiDoc application that could be used for several projects of HiSoMA.The advantages and drawbacks of the approach, as well as the possible alignment or integration withthe EpiDoc XSLT reference stylesheets, will be discussed.
