In light of current environmental challenges, taking environmental considerations into account in the construction industry has become essential. But how is this being implemented in practice within companies? This Céreq Bref, based on a survey of two SMEs in southern France, examines how ecology is integrated into companies' economic strategies. The study reveals that, although managers who are committed to the issue often provide the impetus, this is insufficient to bring about a widespread move towards more environmentally friendly working practices.
