L’actualisation du patrimoine face à la métropolisation. Le cas de Saint-Denis

Le patrimoine urbain ne doit pas seulement être conservé et transmis, mais aussi être actualisé, en particulier face à la métropolisation. Dans un territoire qui présente un patrimoine monumental ancien, mais qui constitue aussi une friche industrielle en cours de reconversion comme Saint-Denis, l’actualisation métropolitaine du patrimoine se manifeste par le projet de remontage de la flèche de la basilique et par de nombreux réemplois de bâtiments de l’ère industrielle. Ce dialogue entre passé et présent ne va toutefois pas sans susciter débats et problèmes, qui touchent tant à l’authenticité du patrimoine qu’au projet urbain.

Urban heritage must not only be preserved and passed, but also be updated, especially face to metropolization. In a territory that possesses an old monumental heritage, but also an industrial wasteland in conversion as Saint-Denis, the metropolitan update of heritage is manifested by the reconstruction project of the arrow of the basilica and by many reuses of buildings of the industrial era.
