Résumé 0

In Nancy Frazer’s bidimensional approach of injustice, economic and cultural domination are closely linked and strengthen each other. The analysis of the situation of chambermaids in the hotel industry backs up this definition of injustice. Work division erects an ethnic and gender border that separates them from other employees of the hôtel business. This segregation is associated to their social invisibilisation. For the clients, they disappear as individuals and are reduced to their function, which is a characteristic situation for minorities. Ethnic, class and gender relations are inscribed in work organization which, in return, perpetuates them.
