Texte und Bilder geben Aufschluss über das Vorhandensein von Hybriden in der Dokumentation von Ugarit. Während die in den poetischen Kompositionen evozierten Figuren bereits Gegenstand mehrerer Studien waren, ist der reiche und vielfältige Korpus, den die Ikonographie offenbart, noch nicht Gegenstand einer erschöpfenden Untersuchung gewesen. Wir verweisen erneut auf das Steatit-Stempelsiegel RS 25.188 (Damaskus 2946), das im Sektor „Süd-Akropolis“ auf dem Tell von Ras Shamra entdeckt wurde. Dies ist aus mehreren Gründen ein außergewöhnliches Objekt. Soweit wir wissen, ist dies das einzige Objekt aus Ugarit, das einen Text mit dem Bild eines Hybriden verbindet. Kürzlich hat eine neue Lesart des in den Sockel eingeritzten Motivs die Identifizierung einer Figur ermöglicht, die bisher im ikonographischen Repertoire von Ugarit nicht bekannt war: eine zweiköpfige Sphinx.
Texts and images provide information about the presence of hybrids in the documentation from Ugarit. While the figures evoked in the poetic compositions have already been the subject of several studies, the rich and varied corpus revealed by iconography has still not been the subject of an exhaustive study. We draw attention again to the steatite stamp seal RS 25.188 (Damas 2946), discovered in the "Sud-acropole" sector on the tell of Ras Shamra. This is an exceptional object for several reasons. As far as we know, this is the only object from Ugarit that associates a text with the image of a hybrid. Recently, a new reading of the motif carved into the base has made it possible to identify a figure that as yet has not been recognised in the iconographic repertoire of Ugarit: a two-headed sphinx.

Alors que les figures évoquées dans les œuvres poétiques ont déjà fait l’objet de nombreuses analyses, le corpus, riche et varié, révélé par l’iconographie n’a pas encore fait l’objet d’une étude exhaustive. Nous attirons à nouveau l’attention sur le cachet en stéatite RS 25.188 (Damas 2946), découvert dans le secteur « Sud-acropole » sur le tell de Ras Shamra. Cet objet est exceptionnel à plusieurs titres. À Ugarit, il s’agit du seul document à notre connaissance associant un texte à la représentation d’un hybride. Une nouvelle lecture du motif sculpté en creux sur sa base a permis d’identifier récemment une figure non encore reconnue dans le répertoire iconographique d’Ugarit : un sphinx à deux têtes.
