In this article, we propose an innovative interpretation of responsible intra-organizational mobility processes. On the basis of the literature on intra-organizational mobility processes and corporate social responsibility (CSR), we show the link between these concepts. Our qualitative methodology makes it possible to collect the points of view of the human resource management of nineteen large companies in France through forty-seven interviews. From these interviews we formulate an interpretation of formal and informal mobility processes and we suggest that there are more responsible methods than others. Our managerial recommendations propose internal mobility processes that increase the company’s social responsibility toward its employees.
