Résumé 0

A pioneer of what we now call, sometimes too readily, “research-creation,” and an advocate of a unified, stage-based approach to theatrical aesthetics, André Veinstein worked to define what he called an “aesthetic conception of staging.” By this he meant to underline the importance of the interpretive freedom specific to the art of theater, while warning against attempts to “distort” and “dissociate,” in his words, the dramatic text.
