Thomas Delahais et al., « The design of public action: Toward a hybridization between a culture of design and a culture of evaluation », Sciences du Design, ID : 10670/1.7ce5dc...
Design applied to public action is on the rise and is emerging nowadays as a discipline of choice to foster innovation while putting users at the heart of policy development. But what are its real consequences for public action, and how are they desirable and for whom? An evaluation of design could be useful to answer this question, provided that it considers not only the output of design but also the added value of design processes and the consequences of design beyond the project. Above all, it is now up to the designers to take over evaluation, moving toward a hybridization of practices that should be beneficial to both design and evaluation.
